Downtown Dubai’s Arabic Music Institute is home to a music museum, a concert majlis, as well as facilities such as training rooms and a recording studio.

The Arabic Music Institute by Emaar Entertainment was born out of a commitment to preserve Arabic musical traditions while encouraging innovation.
Designed to cater to children between the ages of 6 and 11, the institute offers music courses and lessons in different instruments.

Instrument lessons

Children can learn to play traditional Arabic instruments such as the Oud, Qanun, Nay, as well as the Violin, Cello and Clarinet.

Classes are priced at AED 175 for 40 minutes. A package of 12 classes can be purchased for AED 1,800.

Music courses

Some of the other classes offered at the institute include Learning About Rhythm, Chorus Singing, in addition to Music Theory and Solfeggio.

There are music classes for adults too.

The facilities

In addition to 26 training rooms which have excellent sound quality, the institute has a recording studio, which is available for rent. The studio fees are AED 500 per hour for recording and AED 300 per hour for the sound engineer.
Music enthusiasts can host intimate concerts at the Majlis, which can accommodate up to 75 guests.

The museum

Visitors can also discover the world of Arabic music at the in-house museum, which also has a karaoke room, thus allowing guests to be part of a truly unique musical experience.
Tickets to the museum cost AED 50 per person. The museum is open from 10am to 7.30pm from Monday to Friday.
