While the pace of the city does slow down during the Holy Month of Ramadan, there are still plenty of things to do in Downtown Dubai this March. Here are some ideas for your next outing.

Visit an exhibition

During the Holy Month of Ramadan, Dubai Mall is hosting Echoes of the Park, a photo exhibition honouring heritage, culture, and faith. This free-to-attend event runs until 29th March. Visitors can also enjoy live performers, witness traditional crafts, and experience Arabian hospitality.

Experience the Dubai Fountain show

Looking for free things to do in Downtown Dubai? Then don’t miss this stunning spectacle. You can watch the world’s largest choreographed fountain show free of charge. Located at the base of Burj Khalifa, the shows take place every day during the month of Ramadan from 7.30pm onwards at half-hour intervals. You can get your picture-perfect shots from Dubai Mall’s Waterfront Pormenade or Burj Park.

Indulge in tea for two

If you know you’ll be spending the day at the mall with your BFF, why not pre-order an evening tea set? Available at Doors restaurant for AED 355 for two people, the experience includes an array of savoury bites and sweet treats. The selection features beef kofte kebab with caviar, smoked salmon sandwich with red caviar, avocado pizza, flower baklava, blueberry crumble cake among other delightful options.

Witness the cannon firing tradition

During the Holy Month of Ramadan, cannon shots will be heard in Downtown Dubai every evening at sunset, coinciding with the Maghrib call to prayer. This decades-old tradition marks the end of the day’s fast. Those who wish to watch the police force operate their special cannons can make their way to Burj Park every evening.

Delight in a tea ceremony experience

Dubai Mall has a new tea house where guests can experience authentic tea ceremonies that celebrate the centuries-old tradition of brewing tea. At Ming Yue tea house, there are 12 concept tables to choose from, each representing a month of the year and, in turn, a flower. There are more than 108 varieties of teas from different regions of China, including oolongs, aged pu-erh, and delicate white teas. Priced from AED 88 per person.

Book an Iftar

From Anatolian and Mediterranean-inspired dishes at Apricot’s Iftar to vegetarian and non-vegetarian Iftar menus at Jun’s, there are plenty of options to choose from this Ramadan. Gather with family and friends to break your fast (or, if you don’t fast, to simply experience this beautiful tradition) at one of these Iftars in Downtown Dubai.
