You don’t always need to spend money to have a good time in Downtown Dubai. Although the area is home to some of Dubai’s top attractions (with the Burj Khalifa leading the way), there are plenty of free activities that Downtown Dubai has to offer. Here are our favourites.

Watch the Dubai Fountain show

Now here’s one thing we never get bored of – watching the magical Dubai Fountain. The isn’t your average water show – it’s the world’s largest dancing fountain, synchronised with music and lights. After five months of renovation work, the fountain reopens on 1st October and if you want to experience its magic, here’s the schedule.

Chill at Burj Park

Could there be a better place to chill than at the base of the Burj Khalifa? Offering a green space with views of the iconic Burj Khalifa, we can assure you of envy-inducing photos from this Downtown spot.

Take a photo tour of Downtown Dubai

We are a generation obsessed with capturing every moment and everything on camera. Whether you love sharing on social media or simply enjoy taking photos to preserve memories, we’ve got the perfect spots for you. Here are Downtown Dubai’s best photo locations for your feed. You’re welcome!

Check out Dubai Aquarium

While you can enjoy mesmerising sights (aka beautiful marine life) from the outside without paying a dirham, purchasing a ticket gives you access to the walk-through tunnel of the world’s largest suspended aquarium, plus the opportunity to check out the underwater zoo, penguin cove, and much more! In other words: a much more closer experience than just viewing from the outside.

Visit Dubai Mall

You don’t have to dine or shop – though with so many exciting options in front of you, it would be hard not to. If nothing else, simply exploring the mall will help you hit your step count for the day.

Walk the Bouelvard

Summer is here, and but the evenings are still great for a leisurely stroll along the Boulevard. This horseshoe-shaped road is home to restaurants, cafes, art galleries. The best time to visit? At night – it’s lit (literally!).

Appreciate the architecture

Downtown Dubai offers a unique blend of modern and old architecture, so keep those cameras ready! On one side, you’ll see modern architectural wonders like the dhow-shaped Dubai Opera and the Spider Lily-inspired Burj Khalifa, while in the same area, you can also admire traditional Arabian design – arched walkways and lattice work – at Souk Al Bahar and the residential district of Old Town.
