With just days left until what will be one of the biggest celebrations Downtown Dubai (or the city, for that matter) has ever seen on New Year’s Eve, developer Emaar has shared some important information for visitors celebrating in the area.

Downtown Dubai will be divided into different zones for NYE:

Access to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard will be given to families and couples on New Year’s Eve. The zones are:

  • Lime zone
  • Teal zone
  • Pink zone
  • Purple
  • Light Blue

Here’s how to access the different zones:

  • Gate 1: Located behind behind BLVD Heights, this entrance can be used to access the pink and purple zones (including Burj Park – ticket holders only). The nearest metro station is Business Bay.
  • Gate 2: Located behind Burj Vista, this entrance can be used to access the pink and blue zones. The nearest metro station for this gate is also Business Bay.
  • Gate 3: Located near Emaar Square, this entrance can be used to access the pink and blue zones. The nearest metro station for this gate is Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall.
  • Gate 4: Located at Boulevard Plaza, this entrance can be used to access the purple and blue zones. The nearest metro station for this gate is Financial Centre.
  • Gate 5: Located near Fountain Views, this entrance can be used to access the lime and teal zones.
  • Gate 6: Located in front of Address Downtown, this entrance is exclusively for guests with confirmed bookings in the teal zone.
  • Gate 7: Located near Vida Dubai Mall in the lime zone, this entrance offers free access to families without bookings.

Badges for New Year’s Eve in Downtown Dubai

Guests must have their badges with them at all times throughout the night. There will be colour coded badges for entry to Burj Park, restaurants, Souk Al Bahar, TimeOut Market and the hotels. Residents and their guests will receive separate badges. These badges are for individuals and not vehicle entry to Downtown Dubai.

Badge collection for New Year’s Eve celebrations at Burj Park

Guests who have purchased tickets for New Year’s Eve celebrations in Burj Park can collect their badges between 26th December and 30th December from the following locations:

  • Dubai Mall – Ground floor opposite cafe Nero
  • Dubai Hills Mall – Ground floor at The Storm Coaster

Collection timings are from 10am to 11pm on weekdays and from 10am to midnight on weekends. Badges are mandatory for entry to Burj Park and need to be collected before 31st December.

Road closures will begin as early as 4pm*

  • Taxis will be able to drop guests off at designated perimeter points.
  • The Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station will close as soon as it reaches capacity.
  • Alternate metro stations that can be used to access Downtown Dubai include Business Bay and Financial Centre.
  • Guests who wish to drive have access to 16,000 parking spots spread between Zabeel, Fountain Views and the Bouelvard. Salik charges will apply for the latter from 8am on 1st January.
  • Additional parking is available at Al Wasl Club and Falcon Heritage & Sports Centre in Meydan with complimentary shuttles for badge holders.
