Onam is synonymous with sadhya, a South Indian vegetarian feast typically served on a banana leaf. But here’s the part most people don’t know: sadhya in Downtown Dubai is a weekly offering – not just an Onam special – starting from 17th January.

At Indian restaurant Jamavar, diners can experience an elevated take on the traditional meal. Priced at AED 149, it is an indulgent spread of classic vegetarian preparations presented to meet Michelin standards. There’s a choice of Matta rice or double-boiled rice to enjoy with classics such as sambhar, rasam, thoran, aviyal, as well as condiments like pickles and pappadum. To round off the meal, there’s tender coconut pudding with passion fruit pearls.
While the feast remains traditionally vegetarian, guests may add Kumarakom fish curry for an additional AED 50.
