If it’s your first Ramadan in the UAE, here’s something to know: during the Holy Month, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, with the day’s fast ending as families and friends come together for Iftar.

Every evening at sunset, cannon shots are fired across the city just as the Maghrib call to prayer begins – a tradition that has marked the end of the day’s fast for decades.

You can catch the Iftar cannon at Burj Park daily during Ramadan. Dubai Police oversee this long-standing custom, and it is free for everyone to witness.

And of course, no Ramadan evening is complete without Iftar, so here’s a list of the best Iftars in Downtown Dubai for 2026.
